Crafthouse Stage & Grill - Pittsburgh, PA

Old Neon Event Review Photo

Old Neon performed so tellingly, they snapped a string, slung a hair tie, and satiated the venue. As soon as they climbed the stage to perform, their dedicated fans quickly gathered to support them. It was heartening to see the urgency of listeners flooding the pit, and how confidently the lead vocalist worked to surpass this initial energy with “Nobody’s Burden”. The band followed as main guitars exchanged lead and rhythm, each with an effortless demeanor that stirred cathartic reactions within the crowd. Drums remained rapid, simmering behind ardent vocals and unwavering strings. Old Neon’s bassist impressed with unexpected vocal support that complimented the overall performance and sound.

Drew Sipos (vocalist) bounced and twisted without compromising stability, keeping the venue brimming with organic smiles and contagious choruses. He managed to connect with audience members through genial eye contact, sending lyrics through them to maintain a baseline of intense, spirited engagement. Lead guitars shared segments, shifting action between the two to promote a lively set. Bea Langer (guitarist) remained composed and intentional while supporting lead vocals as Mike McInnes (guitarist) absorbed listeners with unmatched fluency. Both musicians shared expertise, underlined by their individual styles.

Sean Michael (bassist) carried a consistent line that guided each track, though occasionally difficult to hear. Sean and Bea also provided notable backing vocals that deserve recognition. Zach Pollach (drummer) seemed to uphold endless, breakneck beats that rumbled lungs and bobbed heads. He endured with an unparalleled focus that attracted attention each time he nailed a measure. Lights and sound worked sufficiently to emphasize Old Neon's already stunning stage presence. Overall, the performance was abundant with energetic interaction, commendable sound, and surmounted expectations.
