Wild Truth's “See Myself” is a carousel of summery bliss with the sharp kick of something alt. Timid symbols and a confident guitar rip through space followed by muffled vocals that yo-yo up and down with an enticing cadence. A repetitive rhyme scheme engages listeners with a short familiarity that sets up the emotionally stretched chorus. “See Myself” is an echoing epiphany that swings with an attitude that highlights the individual. They sing “I feel like I’m starting to see me/ I’m starting to see myself,” but “I can’t speak/ there’s a lump in my throat/ but I’m screaming alone in hell,” so we’re not sure if “Seeing Myself” is a good thing yet. A high-gain bridge combined with drum stick taps and a soothing vocal pattern introduce the close of the song in a final breakthrough of sound. Staccato strings offer one last run of revelation, ending the track with a drum lick that melts back into the beginning of the song. This song is stellar, and on repeat.
